It’s summertime!

You must have already planned something to maximize your days off such as taking a vacation, doing Visita Iglesia, or probably travel to your hometown with your furry friend.

Well, undoubtedly, there are a lot of things that you have to consider and prepare if you are travelling with your pet.

As pet lovers and responsible pet owners, we need to make sure that they are safe and comfortable during the travel.

Here are some tips for you to ensure that they wouldn’t feel stressed on the road so they can fully enjoy the company of their “hoomans.”

  • Prepare your pet’s travel kit.

Make sure to bring your pet’s food, feeding bowl, water, leash, waste scoop, plastic bag, and favorite toy. Only give them small amount of food and water before your travel to lessen the chances of them peeing while on the road.

You might also want to put them in diapers so it wouldn’t get messy in case that happens.

  • Bring your pet’s travel documents such as identification tags, registration documents, and proof of vaccination.

These papers are necessary during the travel so they can be easily identified. Authorities also require proof of vaccination if you will be taking a public transportation.

  • Keep your pet in a well-ventilated pet carrier.

It is nice to have your pet sitting on your lap while absorbing the view. However, things can go wrong as they may feel scared outside their familiar environment.

It would be easier to keep them secured in a pet carrier so they can relax, sleep, and have some “me time” while on the road.

  • Never leave your pet alone inside the vehicle.

Our four-legged friends may feel stress or sadness if they don’t see familiar faces around. Plus, we have to ensure their safety most of the time.

These are the common tips that you can follow to travel with ease together with your pet. Hope you enjoy the holidays!
