Hey, girls! You don’t need to be ashamed of your body hair anymore.
We know stereotypical gender norms exist – that a woman’s armpit hair must be shaved in order to look beautiful.
But now, there is called a “choice” because it is all about you embracing who you are including your body hair.
Interestingly, there are women on Instagram and YouTube who have been showing their armpit hair colored in many shades; calling them “rainbow pits.”
They grow out their hair and dye them in rainbow colors!
What do you expect? Well, this generation is all about women empowerment, and you have all the right to grow them.
According to People, the concept first appeared on the internet way back in 2016. It started when a YouTube content creator Official Rainbow Girl bravely used the social media to show how armpit hair can be achieved.
She posted a rainbow armpit hair dye tutorial on her channel which gained more than 615,000 views and 5,500 comments.
This is also when other women decided to follow the bandwagon and showed their colorful pits that have been going viral.
Starting the first month of the year, there was a movement called “Januhairy”; encouraging women to grow out and show off their body hair.
Also from People, some celebrities who haven’t been shy about embracing their body hair were Madonna, her daughter Lourdes Leon, and Paris Jackson.
Although it’s understandable that not everyone would love this new trend, it still makes others feel more like themselves.
There’s no reason not to make the world a little brighter with those colorful pits. Won’t you agree?
