You might be taking care of your hair the wrong way or maybe you’re just unconsciously committing mistakes; believing that you’re doing it right.
Here are some of the mistakes you might often do with regards to your crown of glory:
Washing your hair too often
One of the worst things you can do to your hair is washing it too often.
Experts say that washing your hair more than you should is taking away the natural oil that keeps it healthy. It is also advisable to reduce the number of times you apply shampoo on your hair. Of course, not washing enough also damages your hair.
Rinsing in with steaming hot water
It’s a no-no to rinse your hair with steaming hot water as it can cause damage to it like what flat irons and hair dryers do when temperature is dialed up too high. You can rinse with hot water when shampooing but not with steaming hot water.
Conditioning from the roots of the hair
It is also advisable to apply conditioner not on the roots of the hair but from the middle of the hair towards the tip as the end of the hair are the oldest; meaning they are less healthy and needs the most conditioning.
Brushing and putting wet hair in a ponytail
Stretching wet hair by combing it after shower will cause the strand to break as the hair is more delicate when wet. It is also important to remember to let your hair dry first before putting it in a tight bun or pony.
Coloring your hair too often
No doubt, playing with highlights and colors into your hair is fun and liberating, but don’t over do it as experts say the chemicals hair coloring contains can damage your strands. So, it’s better to take an ample break before switching into your next desired hair color.
