Doing cardiovascular exercises, cardio for short, is known as one of the best and most effective ways to achieve good health.

Of course, it can be tiring because cardio is either about running, walking, biking, or swimming but by doing it at least 10 minutes a day can already be beneficial to your body.

Aside from burning excess calories, a report said it can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety; improve brain health, the immune system, and heart health.

According to Flo, 30 minutes to an hour of cardio exercise a day can help control blood pressure, reduce blood sugar, boost good cholesterol, lower anxiety and stress, and decrease the protein that contributes to blood clots.

Regulates weight and strengthens immune system

Because cardio is known to help burn calories, it is helpful when you’re trying to lose weight. It can also help in lowering your body’s risk of bacterial infection, thus strengthening your immune system.

Promotes brain health

According to research, the parts of the brain that control memory and thinking “have greater volume in individuals who exercise than in individuals who do not.”

It also helps you achieve a good night’s sleep that is vital for good mental health.

Boosts mood and energy

Cardio is believed to increase endorphins that trigger positive feelings and norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine that are known as mood-boosting hormones; making you energized the rest of the day.

Increases metabolism

It’s no secret that all kinds of cardio whether jogging, swimming, running, or biking increase metabolism as it is proven to produce a hormone that has many positive effects on body’s metabolism. This will also lead due to more calories burned.
