Among these remedies are onion juice and guava leaves.

Onion juice, according to a report, is a “safe, natural, and affordable home remedy that can be great for your hair as many people have reported that it improves thickness, stimulates growth, and even regenerates new growth when dealing with hair loss.”

On the other hand, it has been claimed that guava leaves are good remedy for hair fall because the leaves contain Vitamins B and C, which help boost collagen activity required for hair growth.

However, while many have been recommending and may have proven through their personal experiences that these two remedies can solve hair fall condition, a medical expert from the Philippines, Dr. Jean Marquez, recently clarified that there is no direct link between onion juice or guava leaves and hair fall.

Speaking in a television program, Marquez said, “There is no direct study that says that the two remedies can help control hair fall but we cannot totally dismiss the importance of onion and guava.”

She explained that onion is very rich in calcium and iron, which can probably provide good effect on our hair “but we can’t really say that it prevents hair fall.” She also underscored that guava is rich in B complex and Vitamin which also helps our skin, body, immune system, and the strength of our hair.

Marquez, however, pointed out that we should not solely depend or rely on these remedies to control hair fall due to the absence of scientific evidence.

“It can have an indirect effect but we cannot really recommend it as the only treatment to control hair fall. As a whole, it actually helps our body,” Marquez concluded.
