“By nourishing ourselves with these anti-aging food, we can gain fuel to look and feel our best,” registered dietitian and functional medicine nutritionist Nathalie Rhone wrote on Healthline. “Choose fruits and vegetables deep in color. The rich shades are usually a sign of stronger radical fighting abilities to keep your skin healthy and vibrant. The more colors you can fit on your plate, the better.”

Here are some of the nutritious food that can make you look younger:

*Orange – Loaded with water, oranges have the ability to hydrate your skin and your cells. A large orange is an excellent source of vitamin C, which helps make collagen that keeps skin supple.

*Salmon – Studies found that omega-3s, especially from fish, may keep skin cancer cells from growing and spreading. Salmon is one of the best ways to get healthy omega-3 fats in your diet. Aim for at least two three-ounce servings of fish each week.

*Red bell pepper – Aside from their high content of Vitamin C—which is good for collagen production—red bell peppers contain powerful antioxidants called carotenoids. Carotenoids are plant pigments responsible for the bright red, yellow, and orange colors you see in many fruits and vegetables. They have a variety of anti-inflammatory properties and may help protect skin from sun damage, pollution, and environmental toxins.

*Avocado – Avocados are filled with a healthy type of fat, monounsaturated fat, which helps skin stay hydrated; and let you absorb some vitamins and nutrients needed by your skin.

*Blueberry – Blueberries are rich in vitamins A and C, as well as an age-defying antioxidant called anthocyanin.  These powerful antioxidants help protect skin from damage due to the sun, stress, and pollution by moderating the inflammatory response and preventing collagen loss.

*Spinach – Spinach is hydrating and packed with antioxidants that help to oxygenate and replenish the entire body.

*Sweet potato – The orange color of the sweet potatoes comes from an antioxidant called beta-carotene which is converted to Vitamin A; which help restore skin elasticity, promote skin cell turnover, and ultimately contribute to soft, youthful-looking skin.
